Biography:
Captain Atom, also known as Nataniel Adam, is a character from DC Comics. He first appeared in Space Adventures #33 (March 1960) published by Charlton Comics; DC Comics later acquired the rights to the character.
Adam was a U.S. Air Force test pilot who volunteered for an experiment. During the experiment, he was encased in the hull of an alien ship and detonated with an atomic weapon. This seemingly disintegrated Adam but also fused the alien metal to him, granting him vast energy manipulation abilities and transforming him into Captain Atom.
As Captain Atom, Nataniel possesses the power to manipulate energy, fly at incredible speeds, and project energy blasts. He is a powerful and complex character, often grappling with the responsibility and potential dangers of his abilities. He is also well known for his service to the United States of America.
